More stuff here, yada yada yada, four score and seven years ago our forefathers etc., etc., Once up on a time a long time ago in the middle of a deep dark woods there lived a little girl and her name was Little Red Riding Hood because of the red hooded cape her grandmother made her that was so warm.

It also tells an important and not-often-told story about supporting friends who are survivors of sexual trauma. This creative nonfiction essay was two years in the making and the most challenging piece I had written to date when it was published in Lunch Ticket’s Amuse Bouche series in the fall of 2020.

“Deja Vu” was recorded at the So Say We All VAMP storytelling showcase in February 2020 at the Whistle Stop Cafe in San Diego. The theme of the show was Dirty Talk: Pills, Props and Playthings.
